OnlyFumes take
The Classic is a polished fresh amber woody fragrance built around sage, lavender, lime, orange, coriander leaf, amber, guaiacwood, cedarwood, musk, and animalic notes. The opening is clean and tailored, the mid-wear brings dry spice and warm wood, and the drydown settles into amber, cedar, musk, and a subtle masculine depth. I like it most for dressed-up casual wear, dinner, business settings, church, date night, and formal-leaning events. It overlaps with The Formal in purpose, but The Classic feels fresher, cleaner, and more gentlemanly while The Formal feels sharper and more suit-focused. For me, The Classic is a strong discount buy and a sample-first fragrance at full luxury pricing.

Scent journey
The Classic is a clean gentleman-style House of Sillage fragrance with aromatic citrus, warm amber wood, smooth musk, and polished dressed-up versatility.
Total scent longevity: researched and contextual range is about 7 to 10 hours on skin. Projection longevity: strongest for about 2 to 3 hours, then it becomes more controlled and personal. Sillage longevity: about 3 to 4 hours as a polished trail before it settles closer. The Classic works best for spring, fall, winter, dressed-up casual wear, dinner, date night, business settings, church, and formal-leaning events. Gym safety: I would not wear The Classic to the gym because the amber, guaiacwood, musk, and animalic base can feel too dressed-up in workout heat. In the collection, it complements The Formal by giving a fresher gentleman lane rather than a sharper woody-spicy formal lane. The value depends heavily on purchase price. At full House of Sillage pricing, I would be strict because the profile is refined but not shocking. At discount pricing from a retailer like Olfactory Factory, it becomes easier to justify because the scent is wearable, polished, and useful. This is not a must-buy for everyone, but it makes sense if you want clean luxury masculinity with amber and wood behind it.
My final verdict is that The Classic does what the name promises.

If you are new to fragrances, this is how I would build the collection. Do not start with hype. Start with purpose.

If I had to sum up the market right now, I would say the hottest fragrances are not all trying to do the same thing anymore. The old blue-fragrance lane is still alive, but it is no longer the whole conversation. Sweet masculine gourmands, modern oud, skin scents, extrait versions, and value fragrances with real projection are all fighting for attention.

So my current gym lineup is simple. Jean Lowe Verde Aura is number one because it is clean, easy, gorgeous, and hard to overdo. Mawj Moscow Mule is number two because it gives me daily fresh energy with personality.
